PM Calls for More Opportunities for Women Leaders Close to Home

PHNOM PENH: Prime Minister Hun Manet instructed the Ministry of Interior to appoint more women as deputy governors of provinces and districts to promote female leadership in the country.

Speaking at the Closing Ceremony of the 2023 Annual Meeting of the Ministry of Women's Affairs on the afternoon of January 11, the PM told the Ministry of Interior, "In order to maintain family well-being and efficiency, I would like to ask the Ministry of Interior to examine the possibility of appointing women as Deputy Governor of the Board of Governors of the capital, provinces, municipalities, districts and communes. This will provide opportunities for them to serve in localities close to their family.”

He entrusted the task to Minister of Interior Sar Sokha.
